Bury St Edmunds - NOT amateur radio

Bury St Edmunds is our favourite place to shop. It is a bit further than Cambridge but easier to get to. It is a classic Suffolk market town with charming shops and a good market twice a week. Most of the people you see are true locals from the area with Suffolk accents. In Cambridge it seems that a good proportion of the people are from China!

Pity the shops are not local, usual national chains that make you wonder if you are in Inverness Penzance or Norwich.....

Yes, I agree in this shot, but there are still LOTS of independent shops around in this little gem of a town. A long way from Scotland but well worth visiting if you are ever in East Anglia.

I certainly will visit one day Rodger, in the last 2o years here in Aberdeenshire I have seen many "local" businesses close to be replaced by estate agents or multiples...I would love finding those unique little shops down the back streets of most large towns and cities....would seem that rental costs and redevelopment have killed many.... 73 Steve 2M0SKJ
