BITX at bargain basement prices

My friend Steve G1KQH has pointed me to a website in India selling 40m BITX assembled PCBs at ridiculous prices. If you are after SSB on 40m, this may be for you.

The BITX is a well proven design. This assembled PCB uses a mix of SMA and wire-ended parts. You only have to assemble the PCB and pots into a case.  It should be a low risk approach to 40m SSB and you finish the assembly yourself.

10m BitX transceiver

I notice that someone has created a 10m (28MHz) version of the BitX transceiver. Yes, all would like more details but we don't know who you are!

28MHz BitX SSB transceiver

The very popular BitX SSB transceiver is, to my knowledge, available in kit form (from QRP kits) for both 20 and 17m, but I haven't seen versions for other HF bands.

What would be really nice would be a version for the 10m band where 6-8W would be enough to work the world when the band is open. The IRF510s would need to be changed to a Mitsubishi power FET such as the RD16HHF1.

Does anyone know if a 10m BITX has been done or if a kit is available for this band?

Hendricks QRP Kits

http://www.qrpkits.com/ have some really nice kits on their pages these days. If you are new to QRP then they offer a very nice way to join in the fun. One example is the very neat version of the famous BitX 20m SSB transceiver designed in India originally. They also have plenty of CW kits and accessory kits like ATUs, attenuators and simple pieces of test gear. I've never actually built any of these kits but they look well designed with clear building instructions.
